Micro-filtered Whey Isolate is the most undenatured form of Whey. This implies that the native structure of whey remains intact. Basically, this type of whey has 90% higher protein content and is virtually free of lactose and fat, as well as cholesterol.

In the micro-filtration process the fat and the lactose considered as undesired components, are separated from the protein through the use of ceramic micro-filters in an environment with low temperature. This process cannot be applied in a high temperature environment since pasteurization will destruct the fragile components. Following filtration of the whey protein is the drying via low temperatures. Though this process is expensive, it gives the highest biological value of all other whey proteins.
